The IDOC 2024 compliance monitoring report gives the strongest sourced capacity and population figures for White County Jail. The inspection was dated July 18, 2024. It listed total capacity as 78, with 58 male beds and 20 female beds. The inspection-date population was 21, with 17 male detainees and 4 female detainees. Juvenile male and juvenile female counts were both zero on that inspection date.

White County Jail publishes a detailed commissary and funds policy. Commissary is ordered every Tuesday before 10 p.m. and delivered Thursday unless normal jail operations prevent delivery. White County Jail Bond Notes

The White County Jail FAQ says bond is accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It states that a citizen bonding an inmate must be over 18 or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must have government-issued photo ID. It also states that cash in the largest logical denomination is the only legal tender accepted and that credit-card bail or bonding is available through Court Money by phone with a service fee.

Those FAQ statements should be read together with Illinois statewide pretrial changes. Illinois eliminated cash bail for new criminal cases under the Pretrial Fairness Act framework effective September 18, 2023. The official White County Jail site states that the facility is PREA compliant and has zero tolerance for sexual assault and sexual abuse. It says reports may be made by calling 618-382-7149 and asking for the jail administrator's voice mail. The site also states that reports can be anonymous and investigated within 24 hours.

They also noted a supervision-standard issue and said jail officials should ensure complete compliance with the 30-minute check requirement, with the inspected review showing 78 percent on-time checks.
